Wds Print Driver

How to Inject Drivers into a Microsoft WDS Windows 10 Image fa icon='long-arrow-left' Back to all posts fa icon='pencil' Posted by Maggie Keanaaina fa icon='calendar' February 28, 2017. May 17, 2012  Can someone explain to me what this port is and why it somehow automatically gets assigned to my network printers? I periodically have printer issues from my print server with certain printers.when i look into the issue I find that the printer has a WSD port assigned to it.

The V3 and V4 X-GPD are truly universal print drivers compatible with Xerox and other manufacturers’ products, but the driver’s functionality varies by product model.

For fully supported devices, the drivers will automatically recognize all the advanced printing features supported by the device and present them in the driver user interface.

All Xerox and non-Xerox devices that can process industry standard Postscript and PCL commands are compatible with these drivers in the “Basic Printing Mode”. The V3 X-GPD allows for configuring “Xerox WorkCentre Device” or “Xerox FreeFlow Device” modes to ensure that additional printer capabilities are available.

The V4 X-GPD does not support FreeFlow devices but does offer two enhanced fallback modes that support the common features of most office products, these fallback modes can be selected when the driver does not automatically recognize the device: “Xerox Enhanced Mode – Color” and “Xerox Enhanced Mode – Black & White”.

The WSDMON port monitor is a printer port monitor that supports printing to network printers that comply with the Web Services for Devices (WSD) technology. The WSDMON port monitor listens for WSD events and updates the printer status accordingly. This port monitor is new for Windows Vista.

The WSDMON port monitor can:

  • Discover network printers and install them.

  • Send jobs to WSD printers.

  • Monitor the status and configuration of the WSD printers and update the printer object status accordingly.

  • Respond to bidirectional (bidi) queries for supported bidi schemas.

  • Monitor bidi Schema value changes and send notifications

WSDMON operates in a manner similar to the TCP/IP port monitor (TCPMON). The following TCPMON commands are not supported in WSDMON:

AddPort

WSDMON supports the following Xcv commands:
